About Me

IMG_6952Hi there and welcome to my blog! I’m a young woman who has just started to find a zeal for traveling. My favorite parts of traveling include seeing natural features and wildlife as well as meeting people along the way. When not traveling I have a love for animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses. Other than my animal obsession I also love cooking and food.

My travels so far:

During 2012 I studied abroad in Fiji for 5 months through the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). I lived in Suva, the capital city, and studied at the University of the South Pacific for most of the time though I took a lot of side trips. The first part of my blog chronicles those experiences. Directly after that trip I went to New Zealand for a few weeks.

Then in early of 2013 I went to the panhandle of Florida for spring break as the Nanny so I posted a few entries about that.

My next big trip happened in the middle of 2013 when I went to Peru and worked with Fauna Forever, a non-profit environmental organization. I worked as a research intern on the mammal/monkey team for about a month and then spent around 5 days traveling in Cusco and Machu Picchu. Since I never had internet I posted most of that stuff retroactively.

Then during winter of 2013-2014 I decided that I just *had* to get field research experience and go on a winter interim course to the Everglades with my university.

Future plans?

Well, I’ve applied for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Malaysia for the year of 2014 and a few weeks ago I found out I am a finalist! I’ll find out for sure in the next couple months. Hopefully soon I’ll visit family in Salt Lake City, Utah.
