Once again I am sick in Fiji. Again it’s mostly in my throat. Got a cough, mucus, bit of runny nose, and just don’t feel well. Luckily with my program fees came the usp health center. There are doctors there that will write you prescriptions and check you out. All for free.
First time I went to the doctor was really sketch. The guy didn’t look in my throat, take my temperature, or listen to my lungs. He just heard my symptoms and wham here’s some antibiotics and panadol. This time the woman actually listened to my chest and looked in my throat, so a bit better. She also gave me four meds including augmentin. Hopefully I’ll get better soon! But all in all it’s not bad in Fiji particularly when you know it’s all paid for. In fact even if you get referred to a specialist as long as you start at the health center it’s all covered.
